CONNECTING TO THE HEART OF DOG OWNERS
I created the brand foundation for Wholesome Canine, a Toronto-based canine wellness company founded by nutritionists and behaviorists. They needed a brand that could communicate credibility at a glance, stand out in a crowded retail landscape, and scale as the business expanded into services and product.
My mandate was to build an identity system with immediate recognition, clear meaning, and long-term flexibility.
The Challenge
Wholesome Canine entered the market early, before holistic pet wellness became mainstream. The founders needed to establish trust quickly while competing against established players, with limited budget and ambitious growth plans. The brand had to be bold enough to register from a distance, but refined enough to feel credible.

I designed a simple, iconic mark built for high recognition across storefront signage, packaging, and digital touchpoints. The system paired the symbol with a clean typographic foundation and a restrained palette, making it easy to reproduce consistently across applications.
From the start, I structured the identity to scale. The brand system was designed to support expansion into additional services and private label packaging without needing a full redesign.

As the business expanded into daycare services and scent detection programs, the system continued to hold and flex without losing recognition.
