STERLING FOREST LODGE

Sterling Forest Lodge is a boutique retreat in Vermont designed for rest, reconnection, and nature immersion. I was brought in at inception to define the brand from the ground up, including naming, foundational strategy, and a visual identity system built to guide launch, partnerships, and guest experience.

The goal was simple: create a brand strong enough to attract belief before the property was complete.

A BOUTIQUE LODGE REAWAKENS
INTENTIONAL CONNECTIONS TO THE LAND

LEADERSHIP SCOPE

Brand naming and positioning clarity
Visual identity and brand system development
Tone and messaging foundations
Website and launch asset direction
Creative guidance across guest-facing touchpoints

  • When the work began, the lodge was still under construction. With limited photography and no finished guest experience to sell, the brand had to communicate the future clearly and convincingly to investors, collaborators, and early customers. It needed to feel premium and grounded, not rustic or trendy.

  • I developed a brand direction rooted in quiet confidence and restraint, translating the forest setting into a refined identity system. The work included a complete visual language and a set of core assets that could be used immediately across communications, early marketing, and partner materials.

The system was designed to hold as the lodge moved from concept to build to launch, ensuring the brand stayed cohesive as more collaborators came on board.

THE IMPACT

The brand system became the creative foundation for early communications and development decisions, giving the founder a clear roadmap to align partners and maintain consistency through launch. Sterling Forest Lodge entered the market with a cohesive identity from day one, and the system continues to guide the brand as the property evolves.
